Body Blow to HD-DVD?

*Variety *is reporting that Blu-Ray could emerge the victor in the format war plaguing the Hi-Def industry with Universal Studio's latest move. The article reports that Universal's commitment to backing HD DVD exclusively has ended.

But as Andy Patrizio of InternetNews.com has pointed out, formats just don't die, even when they do die.
